I am a keen runner and love working with runners, from beginners and recreational runners through to sub-elite and elite competitors. I have completed several running retraining courses and workshops. While there is no “perfect” running technique, I work with runners to optimise their own mechanics to improve efficiency and performance while minimising injury risk.
I have a particular interest in working with runners on load management strategies to both improve performance and reduce injury risk. I also work with runners to improve their foot and ankle function, as this is a key component of running and one that is often neglected.
Clinically, I use a combination of load management, hands on treatment, exercise prescription and running technique retraining. I also understand the mindset of runners and the importance of being active in your sport.
I have been running in events for more than 20 years and played a running based sport my whole life. As a result, I have a good grasp on the physical demands of running training programs and races. This helps me work collaboratively with runners to work towards their event and competition goals. I also work closely with my clients’ running and strength & conditioning coaches to create a support team for athletes.
As a runner myself, I also understand the mindset of runners and the importance of being active in your sport.
